Week 3 RSS Reflections

1. What did you learn?
That RSS Readers even existed! I love iGoogle and I wish I would have known about it sooner. It would have saved me a lot of time!!!

2. How will you use what you have learned?
I will use iGoogle ever day as it will be my homepage. I'll use it to check my email, the news, facebook, and follow the many blogs I've added.

3. How did you feel about this tool?
It's great! Like I said, I wish I would have known about it sooner.

4. What do you not want to forget about this tool?
How to delete gadgets that I don't necessarily like. I've added quite a few because I was a little over-excited. I can already tell that some of them aren't anything that I would use.

5. How can this be used in the classroom or in your educational role?
Since I have all the blogs and websites in one place, I will probably actually use them. There are so many great websites out there, but when I'm planning, there's just not enough time to go find them. This is like my own little database of great websites and blogs for ideas right at my fingertips.

6. Should you use this in the classroom or your educational role?
Yes

7. What questions do you still have about this tool?
I'm not sure yet...I'm still playing around with it. Right now, I'm not sure how to delete a gadget, but I'm going to figure it out.

  1. Cheree,
I had the same reaction when I learned about RSS readers! Why didn’t I know about them sooner. It is a lot easier to keep track of blogs and sites you follow if they are all right there in one spot. To Delete a gadget in igoogle find the down arrow (triangle) at the top right of the gadget and click it. One of the drop down choices is “delete this gadget”.

As you are hunting for websites to use when planning, you can create a new tab in igoogle on the far left for each subject if you like. I have a home tab for those links I use most often, a school tab for school work, a fun blogs tab for personal and family blogs and a blogs tab for all the educational blogs I like to follow.

Glad to have you in the course! Hope you had fun while learning!
